Blinded by Love

Blinded by Love

A Poem by PetiteGemini
"

Sometimes, you are blinded by love and don't really know what the person's intentions are for being with you.

"
You told me nothing but lies,
Making me feel your fake love.
My love, however, was true.
It burnt out the day you hurt me.

You told me that I was your one and only
While you held my heart in your hand.
Day by day, you made it bleed more,
My love dripping down your hand like blood.

My love for you stayed strong,
Even after we departed.
Once I found out you used me,
It weakened little by little.

My tears of black
Ran down my cheeks like rain.
I curled into a ball and wanted you,
But I knew that you wouldn't change.

I wish that it could be different.
My heart still races when I see you.
Things will never go back to the way they were, however,
For I was blinded by love.

I really liked this piece because of the imagery it created in your head. However (now I know how easy it is to critisise!) I think that a darker shade of red would grasp the felling more powerfully.
Keep writing you've got a talent!
