Dreams of The First Love

Well we all fall in love sometime or the other and we spend years imagining how it would be. This is all about my dreams...the ones that the girl within me wishes for.

Look at me with love in your eyes.
Hold me tight from dusk till rise.
Walk by my side on that lonely street
Let's feel the music of the rustling leaves.
Hold my hands as if you'll never let go.
Know my silence like no one could before.
Tell this heart not to cry again,
Say that you'll shield it from all the pain.
Strengthen the hope that never did die,
That kept telling me that one day you'll be mine.
Smile for once, just to make me smile.
Fill my emptiness with warmth that's thine.
Say that you'll be there till the end of time
That no friends, no folks would ever take you away.
Promise you won't hurt me with your ignorance,
Won't leave me lonely and lost again.
I wish to walk with you through times tough and nice.
I dream of being the keeper of your mysterious smile.
I want to have that one dance with you
When your body and mine shall sway with the rhythm.
And for once, just once, I want to live in a world
Where all that would matter is you, me and the stars.

The possessiveness is a matter of concern in life and when it comes to writing , a challenge . The way writer has to mould it with aesthetic compassion like any other emotion. The way and style with which a writer enters the realm is called .....yes so called diction. When it touches and brings along with life blood ....it shall definitely be like the above.

The rhyming and pacing are a little bumbling and inconsistent but overall this is a cute, nicely written piece. Is English your second language? If so you have done very well indeed!

Yes, you're right. When i was reading the piece today the inconsistency was evident. But, I wrote it way back in 2010 when I was a teenager and this write up is less of a poem and more of an account of the dreams i had then. So I didn't really feel like making editions for i felt it would someway spoil the feel!
