Teenage Rebellion

Teenage Rebellion

A Poem by Debra Stevens Edwards (debby)

Teenage Rebellion

Raw emotions

 Hateful eyes

Teenage rebellion

Drama and lies

You and I both

Doing our Part

Hurt runs deep

Wounded heart

Burning bridges

On rivers of pain

Tears like fire

Shed in vain

It's not love

Or ties we lack

Minds searching for

Any way back

Some way off this

Destructive path

Do I have the strength?

For rebellions aftermath...

Great piece!

Being a teenager, the title of this caught my eye immediately. And you really hit the nail on the head. Awesome!

BTW Debby, I loved the short stanzas! Very effective in my opinion. Concise-to the point and hammered it on home!!

Awe, this was great and having experienced it three times over, I do so relate! Can somebody say REBELLION?!
'I know it ALL. You don't understand. You're TOO old. You don't remember what it was like to be a teenager!"
Reality discipline is great. My youngest has 16 hours of community service and 8 hours of traffic school that HE has to pay for. The Job came "JUST IN TIME!" Thanks for the memories! (Though technically we are still making one here and there. Our youngest turns 18 next month. hugs, carole

This is good, a bit short, i would of liked a few more lines... teenage rebellion is a thing i know lots about haha... Still very good i liked the style of it.

I liked it...but it still felt too brief. I feel like it needs to be expanded, elongated.
I hope I don't rain on your parade. I again, I like it, it sums some things up...but it leaves too many things open for me to classify it as finished.
