a wilting buttercup

a wilting buttercup

A Poem by DecentlyOkayWriter
"

you've ran out of tears, much like you ran out of-

"
curled up
there's no need to cry anymore
you've ran out of tears
much like you ran out of will

an empty water cup
it's been long since you've left your bed
to fill it
or do anything else, after all

there's been a markup
on your energy, you can't afford the price
you don't need it anyway
what is it even worth

a wilting buttercup
you feel grief for it, even if it's your fault
it's gone
like how you wish to be

I don't see this as nonsense...it makes more sense than you realize.
It reminds me of my dad during his last years and how at times he lost the will to do anything, much less take care of himself. He became so unlike himself.
Very sad to watch him deteriorate.
