Fall For You

Fall For You

A Poem by Deegan

This is not the poem
Of how you stole my heart,
Crushed it between your palms,
And sprinkled my ashes
Into your pathetic wake,
Because that is not
The story.
Tonight I cry the tears
You wish I cried for you.
Tonight I wish on the star
You think belongs to you.
Tonight I shatter the mirror
With the reflection of my nightmares.
Not your mirror, but mine.
It is not you that I miss,
I miss my self.
The self that could smile
And laugh
And sing
And kiss
And shine.
Because the self you've left me with,
Can only cry.
So sweety,
If you've thought of catching these tears,
Don't,
Because they don't fall for you.
