The Truth about Lies

The Truth about Lies

A Chapter by DeliriousCerises

Where does the truth end and the lie begin?

I miss you a little more
Each and every day
And all the things I say to you
All the unsaid lies,
Each and every day
A grain of truth slips by

I feel your presence
Each and every day
And I smile deep inside
A recipe for perfect lies:
Each and every day
A grain of truth drops by

You drift through my mind
Each and every day.
Slightly altered thoughts,
Of all the times gone by,
And each and every day
The grains of truth deceive the lies

Author's Note

So this was inspired by a question. I was really tired and said something that captured how I felt so perfectly it amazed me. Generally I try to be a very open and exact with my feelings and thoughts when expressing myself, but this was different. Maybe because I was tired, I started thinking, if we don't express ourselves perfectly, are we lying? Where does the truth end and the lie begin? Best lies are versions of the truth. Can we always tell when we're lying to ourselves? Denial can run pretty deep, or even just confusion. Anyway, this is what became of it. thoughts are welcomed.
