Do You Wonder?

Do You Wonder?

A Poem by Summer D.
"

It is better not to...

"
Do You Wonder?

Child, do you wonder?

At the still of the fall?
At the looming shadow of the eternal fluorescent light?
Fabled sleep of the giants; the opening page to Grimm's.
What more can a mother offer but a ward of protection to your open mind?

The abrupt end to a jay's cry.
The city tucked between the folds of Aladdin's blanket.
Twelve's strike at the end of a day" the magic melts away.

Child; it is better not to wonder.

Author's Note

Summer D.
If you comment; I'd just like to know what you thought the allusion was to. At first.
Just one word.

I run away from it; in my mind.
But.... it's somewhat always there.

Imagination. That's what came to mind reading this. I may never unravel the mystery behind your amazing poems, and haikus, but I shall strive my best, because yours open many new gates of thought to me. :)

Hum... I can't think of the illusion, not in one word.
But it's beautiful...I liked the second to last line--Cinderella I believe?

Charming little piece. :)
