Evil

Evil

A Poem by Mr Dennis Paquin

As You walk through the shadows
Of the night

Something dark watches you
Just out of sight.

A wreathing sick madness
Filled with hate
Waiting to pounce,
Waiting to desecrate.

All that is beauty,
All that is light
Never giving thought
To what is right

Then when laughter turns to fear
And the fear turns to screams
One can see in the darkness
Its evil eyes begin to gleam

As it seeks justification
In its world full of pain
To destroy what it loves
Not knowing it's insane

i like any poem about insanity. Its such a beautiful, mysterious and captivating subject but i think this poem would read better without the line " An evil darkness lies just out of sight. "
maybe you can reword it, its just a very cliche line. otherwise everything is very lovely

For it seeks justification in its world full of pain
To destroy what it loves not knowing it's insane

It is so sad that this poem is so accurate. We do live in a world full of wreathing sick madness filled with hate and reading this here in the UK in the week when an 11 year old boy was shot dead by a passing teenager, really makes it food for thought.
