Why did I dare?

Now love, you've left me

Left me all alone

I sit and say my silent prayer

A prayer that wants you home.

I wheeze and cry into the night

My beloved is not there

To comfort me as he once did

Why have you gone nowhere?

Yes, you're nowhere

For my heart calls for you

But no answer is returned

Your love has faded where it once was for me

And now my heart still burns.
