Reservation (A Sleepless Sonnet)

Reservation (A Sleepless Sonnet)

A Poem by Desert Knave

A little something to salute National Poetry Month

I've made my reservation

For some sleep deprivation

My alarm is set and you can bet

I'm in for aggravation

I've dosed with melatonin

The ceiling fan is dronin'

Yet my weary brain cannot refrain

From worrisome intonin'

Still I guess I'll do my best

Hope to get a little rest

Turning, kicking ... as the clock's ticking

In this pattern I detest

I've made my reservation

For some sleep deprivation

I so enjoyed the rhythm and rhyme of this one, Jim. It's been too long since you posted a poem. Now that you have, though, go get some sleep! After all, what else do we have to do during the pandemic? This is great, my friend. Lydi**
