Seven Years

Seven Years

A Poem by Desert Knave
"

For Day 7 of National Poetry Month 2020

"

How could seven years be gone

How did time itself move on

After seeming to stand still

Yielding to romantic will

Where indeed did those years go

Since the days of mistletoe

For it feels in many ways

Like it's been but seven days

So today I reminisce

About your eyes and your kiss

And how once upon a time

You brought reason back to rhyme

you celebrate day 7 really well here. That lucky number...and reason brought back to rhyme.
I think of the story of creation and the seven days...and how so much was packed into those short days.
For me the years have flown by, and I am almost 7 decades old now...Lucky 7? Who knows.
love this write.

A kiss in time will be well kept in a place where memories are kept. Love the sentimental rhythm and beat of your heart. truly, Pat

Thank you. ~Jim
The longing for what once was is palpable in this one, Jim. The bouncy rhythm and rhyme are a sharp contrast to the deep emotions expressed. So lovely. Lydi**
