Moonlight Dream

Moonlight Dream

A Chapter by Desert Dreamer
"

a dream...

"

Last night I dreamt of walking

in the light of a full moon

barefoot in a flimsy nightgown

on sandstone into the desert

the land lit up in blue and silver

Datura dreams

sent to show the way to a forgotten world

Many men wanted to follow me

but they got lost along the way

you came with me for a while

you took my hand and kissed my lips

but you did not continue

along the path made of solid stone

to sit beneath the ancient Cedar tree

to listen to the wisdom spoken

Creosote dreams

sent as medicine to heal our breath

I was a goddess beneath the bright moon

during this magic hour

where dreams are created

when anything is possible

The elder Cedar tree

spoke of long lost knowledge

teaching the naming of plants

Elephant Tree dreams

sent to strengthen our blood

In darkness we receive wisdom

the powerful dreams of night

green poetry written on leaves of wise old trees

I am here if you want to sit with me

I will tell you the flower’s names

Astragalus dreams

sent to strengthen our bodies defenses

We have forgotten how to read the sky

failed to remember the sacred plants

they can no longer care for us

until we remember their identity

green beings speak

will you listen?

The ancient Egyptians, tell of a young woman who so loved the Lotus Flower "sšn" that one day, leaving all behind, she walked off into the desert, toward the sun, and never returned. It was believed that she was taken into the heavens and became the goddess sšn. She continues to watch over flowering plants to this very day! This beautiful poem of yours reminded me of that story.

So pretty. I picture a blue-white light given off by the moon and the sand and sandstone are warm from the day's heat. And it's so peaceful too. It's just pretty to me. It recharges me for the review I'm doing for a final. Keep up the great work. :)

Very fine paean to meaningful dreams and green wisdom.

The way you bring together dream and plant magical reality w/the intimation of the lover who walks the whole way w/you is superb.

Just as in the gathering of sacred plants, you gather all the dimensional meanings of seamless NATURE for the reader's illumination.

If memory serves, this is one of your strongest statements of recovered natural living, delivered w/lyrical beauty.

i thought we can dream about people we love, people we are close to and people around us...and here is one dream about mother nature... an eye opener to be honest... the write without a shadow of doubt one gem...but i am awestrucked by the content more than the expression...
what an awesome piece is this!
kudos!

This poem is beautiful, and many forgot how to look at the beauty of nature, for the gifts it gives us, are forgotten by many, but slowly, being revived.. well someday, i'd hope..lol, great write

infinte possibilities, the blue and silver landscape, the desert dreamer,
absolutely epic and soulfully artisitc, the way your words float through
the reader's heart, soft and full of wisdom is enchanting itself
that sets adrift the ponder in full expression, loved it, thanks for sharing :)

All the wonderful gifts that have been handed down to us for centuries, seem to have less and less meaning to us. Love and nature are no longer treated with respect, and in doing so we throw these precious gifts aside, forget their importance and in we return we will pay a big price, one way or another.
This was beautifully expressed.

This is really beautiful... to me it expresses our connections to Mother Nature and how we need to take care of her as she does us for the sake of survival.
