Mr. Pencil

Mr. Pencil

A Poem by Desiree S.
"

Just a humorous poem...

"

Mr. Pencil and I are at home,

Trying to write this poem.

My dog will not leave me alone,

As I try to write this poem.

On to the second verse,

It should be better than the first.

It really can’t be worse,

As I’ve had time to rehearse.

They say the third time is a charm,

And this shouldn’t be that hard.

I feel a cramp growing in my arm,

That I shouldn’t disregard.

My parents are not at home,

As I sit here all alone.

I am trying to write this poem,

But my dog is chewing on me like a bone.

I am growing tired and should lay my head,

And Mr. Pencil is out of lead.

The dog is barking and must be fed,

And now I’m going to my bed.

I co-wrote this with my dad, when I was 11. I was having a hard time trying to figure out what to write, so, this was the result...
Hope you like! =D

Nice! I really enjoyed your poem because I can sympathize with it. For example, at night, when I am trying to write, I think about everything else around me except for my manuscript (which can be counterproductive).
