Survivor's Guilt

Survivor's Guilt

A Poem by Desmund Tiny
"

Survive and carry the guilt......

"

Despair came in a blast

Everything happened so fast

I couldn’t protect them

Nor help them

I want to reach their hands

But I couldn’t move from where I stand

Promise to be together to go home

But I came here all alone

The symphony of their screams

Always haunt me in my dreams

“Help me!!!” All that I hear

I’m terrified and it’s hard for me to bear

They taught me how to smile

But I was a coward to let them die

Swear to be together until the end

But I left them, my friends

To survive can teach us to appreciate another day of life. Regret is a lesson hard to forget. Poem open the door to a lot of thoughts. Thank you for the excellent poem.
