August 12th

today I had to put my beautiful dog to sleep. She was bleeding internally and her blood was not clotting due to that all her blood platelets were so low and she was suffering & her brain was bleeding.

I can't believe our journey has come to an end
I hope you know I'll always love you,

the emptiness that is left behind

will never be filled, you're irreplaceable.

Through the brightest days and darkest nights

you fought through your pain with a smile,

even when you wanted to cry, 

your eyes always had a small glimmer,
until you met that one fateful night.

Tonight the memories you left behind

will haunt me until the end of time,

how I can get through this without you, my dearest friend

I can't stop hearing your cries of pain.

I'm sorry I've failed you, couldn't find a way to save you,

I have to learn to live with the memories you left behind

accepting your absence, I have to learn to let you go 
your voice will always echo through our home

I could never forget you, you were one of a kind
but now you have turn into my guardian angel.

The toughest week we've shared is over now
is your time to sleep and lay to rest 

I hope you believed me when I said
"it's okay my sweet little girl"
as I watched you take your last breath.

how I can get through this without you, my dearest friend

I can't stop hearing your cries of pain.

I hope the time we spent together was the happiest of your life,

I'll cherish the memories you left within me,

where ever you go I hope you are at peace

I'm grateful for having you in my life
I'll see you, 'til the day we meet again.
