To my new Lover,

 

Please be patient with me

I’ve been hurt and I want to go slow

I know if I move too slowly you’ll lose interest
but if I move too fast, I’ll get frightened and run away

I know you’re not the man that hurt me
and I know it’s not fair for me to ask you to pay for his sins
but I need to know I can trust you

I need to know you’ll be there for me

I need to know you care
But I tell you now, after all the tests have been handed out and passed
you’ll never regret the days you had to wait
because there is no greater devotion then the love of a women
who lost all hope of loving again,
but found out that she could.

So just be patient, it will be rewarded.

Honesty... it is the hardest thing to have in any relationship, and even harder to put into words. Yet you did it beautifully.
