Destiny

Destiny

A Poem by Dezarae

what shall be my destiny?

was i created for more than poverty?

shall i ever arise and bless others?

can i even make a wonderful mother?

will i ever be an example of right?

or will i forever plead a dreadful plight?

am i meant for more than fainful cries?

for honesty rather than empty lies?

does destiny hold something great for me?

something good for many to believe in?

a light that can show many the way

to being something more great one day?

or will i stay forever hidden

by all people promoting the forbidden?

it seems the heartless and wicked prosper.

one that sticks up for right is looked over

why are the destinies of many shoved aside.

and people embrace a destiny of lies?

hopelessness, anger, and fear seen to attract

many find themselves wanting more

yet constantly slam the better doors.

options seem to diminish

we start a path, and never finish

we lead unsatisfied lives.

never working on whats inside.

if only we would better our hearts

the world wouldnt be so falling apart!

this is destiny,

people like you and me

seeing the light

following a different plight

turning others to realize

there is more than living to die.

choices are to be made

on one path we shall stay

untill its course we complete

and we succeed at greater feats.

Wake up, you slumbering people!

allowing yourself be trampled

Wake up you lazy souls

show others a better road

lead this world to a better place.

and away from the never ending abyss.

Wake up! I plea! Wake up!
