My Life Song

My Life Song

A Poem by DiamondNRough AKA Patty Rase Hopson
"

Just a message for those that try to silence me and take away my pen.

"

My Voice is MINE

 and MINE alone.

 My pen is an instrument

that writes My Life Song.

Steal either from me,

you should now believe

I'll fight until I

make History!

My Life Song
filled with the
things you do to me.
Written so others,
themselves can now see.

This may seem odd...but I reminded of Patrick Henry as I read this..."Give me liberty or give me death". In fact, I am reminded, as I think a little further here, of Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin...their pens fueled a nation. Going a little further even, I can see the inspiration of one my personal Heros...Thomas Payne, as he was hired (yes, a free lance writer) by General Washington to stir up and rekindle the souls of the revolutionarys at Valley Forge. His work read on December 24, 1776. Wow...I need to go write a poem right quick...I am feeling that inspiring flow coming through my fingertips!! Thank you my friend for this write! Obviously...it moves me. I will post another of my works on here in a few that I would be honored for you to read and review if you might. It is called "We Are Poets". Let me know what you think.

Great premise, although I think it can use a little work to get the most out of it. My life song relating to your pen/voice is a great start. There are a ton of ways to expand this thought so that it would really be an outstanding piece.

I agree with Casey on the last line.

"things you do to me.
Written so others,
them self can now see."

I would think it would be "themselves".

Thanks for the submission to my contest. Continue to weild that pen so that we can hear your voice!

good. It flowed well, but the last two lines
"Written so others,
themself can now see."
sticks out - "themself" is two words.

I liked the visual things you did here. thanks for sharing :)
