Muddy

Muddy

A Poem by Dianne S Penfold

Life is like a wet marsh that you are in.
You are stuck unfortunately,
You can't get out.
The more you struggle,
The softer the sludge becomes.
You're sinking now, shaking, you can't break free.
The struggle consumes you.
Don't struggle anymore.
Let the wet mud engulf you. See where it goes.
Maybe at the end of this muddy pit,
Lies a fantasy world of solid ground.
Don't fight the sinking. The unknown isn't bad.
Let yourself fall deeper.
The mire will never tire.
Save your breath, there is something in the other side.
Its pulling you under,
eyes closing in horror.
But wait, open them up. You're in a different land.
Different grounds cushion your feet now.
Solid soil supports you.
You are finally free to walk, to run, to go.

Excellent spiritual advice in this one. Inner resistance only causes our problems to become more difficult. If you can face the problem clearly, but without negative emotions, you might find it has been solved. At the very least, you will be more at peace.
