Blue, Black

Blue, Black

A Poem by Digvijay Singh

I jot you on white with blue, black
A word, few lines, whole para
Until i can not scribble further
Hours after or past many nights
Walking down the street at twilight
You rush pass my bare thoughts
And i chisel you again, in blue, black
Page after page, poem after poem
I ink you without ever using fullstop
Sometimes blue, sometimes black

I love the symbolism that's well-expressed in the last 2 lines especially. To be honest, this feels a little bit creepy, almost like the portrayal of a stalker (but maybe I'm influenced becuz Halloween is on the horizon & I love spooky writing). This narrator is definitely haunted by this girl & it seems like he's expressing it mostly in lonely words rattling around in his own head, not so much connected to being in a regular back-and-forth with the object of his affection. I love the haunting feeling of this poem . . . it's a little repetitive (in a good way) to mimic the way an obsessive mind circles around the same thoughts (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

This is really great stuff and I love it. I'm left wondering, is this person real or imagined? If this person is real, have you met? There are many questions left unanswered, which is why this piece is so wonderful, whether it be blue, or black.
Great job.

Thank you M.E.Lyle. I'm glad you liked it
I am quite jealous of your line " and I chisel you again, in blue/black." what an excellent descriptor of what we put into forming emotions on paper.
If I had written that, I would be smiling about it for days 😀
The "sometimes blue, sometimes black" endlines is perfect. I wonder if there is a significance to you using blue or black. Depending on your mood perhaps, or most likely, just what is at hand.
Excellent piece. Just one query, the line you rush pass... Perhaps past fits better.
