Only Questions

A Poem by Digvijay Singh

Where shall I pour my little dreams?

On days I do not want to wake up?

On lovers who love in only phases?

In stories I was never a paragraph of?

In many chambers of my purse?

Where do stars go after they fall?

Back in the sky and to shine next night?

Where shall I pour my little dreams?

You are welcome my friend! ~ Sharon
Digvijay, I’ve only read a few of your poems, but this one really shines! It’s one of those powerful poems that speaks volumes in just a few lines. And posing the ideas as questions engages the reader, I think, and makes us complicit in the anguish the writer expresses.

This is unbelievable! Very powerful way to express isolation. Mainly, you show this narrator imagining him/herself being in some other people's lives, not his/her own lonely existence, & you use vivid details to conjure up how this must be going around inside this narrator's head. Even tho the questions sound innocent enuf, each one feels like an atom bomb to me, as far as expressing how utterly lonely this narrator is, but not being a whiner, not really acknowledging his/her own loneliness. I believe this happens on social media alot -- people viewing the fancy pictures posted about people's lives & it makes the lonely feel even more "left out" (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
