Me For-Never

Me For-Never

A Poem by D. Nelson

On the precipice, I'm thinking I'm leaving,

think I'm about to jump, and plunge into the dark of the evening

Weaving, stumble, rubble in my stomach from the bo-bo-

Heaving on parked car - Believing impossible - I am a dead star, and I gotta' go.

Radar, no approaching enemies just a cold front, so I snatch a scarf,

and I scratch my head and dawn my new wings,

On one,

and new dawn is coming so I clear my throat to sing,

He? he is a mess - it's true, but underneath the mess there's a gem so precious

and if you pass it up he will crash and burn - and hell to all the rest.

Hesitant, to all the others -but no bother, he knows he has his brothers,

Forever and beyond, he intends to fly his space shuttle.

And if it crashes then the end is wherever that he decides to settle.

Its the weather, forever,

and the struggles that we rough it through do the work to make us better.

Tough, and you can call me leather - For-never, I will not surrender.

When I hear you speak, I hear you and your babble... mumble.

I don't like this radio station... change the motherfuckin channel.

And when I open my maul - I roar. Call me an animal.

All you looking at me like you know me...

F**k yourself, I am doing my own thing.

And if you don't like the song I sing,

then you don't have to sing along.

Run along.

Even my right feels wrong - Hold on....

Let me be me, and let them be them and forever be alone...
