I Stand Here

I stand here and I wish that it was us,
Standing in the corner holding hands.

I try not to stare at them,
Seething silently at the bliss they must have.

I stand here and I wonder what it is like not to care,
And I remind myself I can't go there.

I stand here and I watch their smiles and laughs,
They seem so oblivious.

I stand here and I shake away the feeling,
That longing, empty feeling inside.

I stand here and I remember you,
For all the good and bad.

I Stand Here and I Wish,
I wish that I had that,
That happy oblivious love.

Why won't you stand with me?

Sad...

It was very beautiful. I really enjoyed it! It was really nice to read a poem that was in the perspective of an outsider. I never thought of that kind of thing. Great idea and poem!
