For A.McG.-B; You

For A.McG.-B; You

A Poem by J.M. Walsh

Is this the end of my heart’s toil?

An unreturned reply,

An unrequited love.

How can I abandon this road?

Though a famine road it may be,

A path I can hardly understand,

As with God,

As with you.

What faith have I in you, and why?

The years have aged my memories,

But the smile and charm still lives,

With your voice,

With your kindness.

But who the hell was I, anyway?

But a boy trapped in your beauty,

Staring hopelessly lost in you,

Wishing for you,

Wanting only you.
