Musings of Delirium

Musings of Delirium

A Poem by Luis Gabriel
"

Real time, much like in the style of Frank O'Hara but not quite.

"

Musings of Delirium by Luis Gabriel

I guess today is a different kind

Of day with the same kind of events

But I am not really there because my

Mind is wandering on to questions of

The past and the future looking for

Clues as to the solutions of the present.

It is about two thirty and next to me lies

The remains of orange chicken and an

Uneaten burrito, next to said burrito

Lies a plastic triangle the kind used to

Advertise countless products and events

Some of which are counter-intuitive

To the gems, I call thoughts, buried

deeply in the treasure chest that

We call the mind.

Huh...a triangle...but why a triangle? Why

Not a circle? They say that in soccer you

Always want to form triangles with your

Teammates to form passing routes, is that

What this smooth grey table and finished

Chairs are? A passing route? An escape?

I am not sure for I am not sure what other

Triangles I have relied upon in my life. Then

Again, does it matter? We all need triangles

Sometimes.
