THE PEN STORY

THE PEN STORY

A Poem by Divyanshu Kachhap
"

We attach so much value to a few people who never become of any use to us in times of difficulties and those who are always there to stand by us, we take them for granted ! Like a PEN !

"

The clock stroke 11:00 at night,
And I suddenly remembered that an article I had to write,
For the school magazine,
And that tomorrow was the last day for submission.
Many ideas coming into my mind,
All at the same time.
So,I took out my diary,
And then began to search for my PEN all in a hurry.

BUT ALL THIS EXCITEMENT PAVED WAY FOR A SAD REALIZATION TO DAWN UPON ME.

I had lost my pen bag in the school that day,
Together with it were gone all my pens in a silly way.
What to do now ?
Where to get a pen from.. at this time of night ?

So, sadly I open my cupboard to keep my diary back
It was then that my sight fell on it
Lying in the corner in complete negligence
WAS A PEN! Not used in days..

"DON'T THROW IT ! IT MAY COME OF SOME USE SOMEDAY "
I remembered my mother had said.
I took out the pen , it was still working all right,
And an article i did write.

The pen instance also went on to teach me a great lesson about life that we attach so much value to a few people who never become of any use to us in times of difficulties and those who are always there to stand by us, we take them for granted !

Well, the message was clearly coming across and it was strictly not necessary to mention it in the end. Sounded much like Aesope's fables in poem's phase to me.

I guess it was supposed to be a blind verse, but things rhyme at places, perhaps more intentionally than not.

The last work was definitely better. But still good, for the second poem. :)

This is inspiring and has a lesson in it. We should not take for granted anything little because little things are sometimes those with greater use to us...

Nice one.

So true, Divyanshu, we do take so many people and things for granted! Your story illustrates this simply, and very well. I keep pens in every room, or fear of not having one when I need it! :)
