Lie by and bye

Lie by and bye

A Poem by Water Blakmon

Lies and Love

"

Lie by and bye

I trust you
About as much as I trust
Aileen Wuornos
You monster you
Serial compassion killer
Fix me?
Nah, you can fix me
Some cereal…
Let me watch you
Open up the box
Unseal the bag
Pour on the milk
Sleight of hand
On the other hand
You can’t fix me a thing
I saw you sing
Truth is sweet
But what you brought me sweet
Is nothing
I shared my soul with you
Whispering sweet
Nothing…
I shared my time with you
Kissing her feet
Running…
Like Jonah ran from Nineveh
Bought that ticket
Set sail
Caught whale hell
Spit up to shore
Ran to Nineveh
Finally spoke the truth
Temporary sadness
Then forgiveness handled
Its business
Finally understood the sentences
Truth… repentance…trust
Is that all that kept
You and I
From being US
