King

King

A Poem by Destiny
"

A poem for the revolution. Whatever we can do, we must do ✊

"

I woke up this morning in mourning
When I saw a man stand on the same steps
Where a King once stood
And told our souls, "I have a dream"

I woke up this morning in mourning
When I saw a man demolish the same steps
Where a King once stood
And told our children, "I have a dream"

I woke up this morning in mourning
When I saw a man claim the rubble his steps
Where a King once stood
And told our parents, "I have a dream"

I woke up this morning in mourning
But this man will never own the same steps
Where a King once stood
And started a revolution with, "I have a dream"

We have a dream today
And it will have to be taken away
Over. My. Dead. Body.

I felt a lot of what this poem says on that day in 2025...and now we have a ruler who thinks he is a king...and we are his subjects.
