Little Dipper

Little Dipper

A Poem by Destiny
"

Civil unrest

"
Will I know the right moment?
Each path, a dead end so far
I'm told to stick to the "proper channels"
But I don't own a remote

I'm warned
This isn't bushwhacking
But I'm a trailblazer
Even without a machete

Just strong shoulders
To carry you through

The birds tell me the way
The stars light the trail
The moon promises
Even in the shadows
She will always be there
And I'm the daughter of the moon

People like me
Whose weapons are voice & pen
Our bodies, barricades
We push back
The progress of injustice

We remain
Peacemakers, pacifists, unarmed
But make no mistake
We won't go down without a fight
