The Lone Wolf Awaits

The Lone Wolf Awaits

A Poem by DogDrawler

He sits under a tree, dying.
He has traveled the Canadian Shield in search for love.
The snowflakes mock him in his loneliness void.
For they seem to fall in pairs.
As he sinks into black, he realizes it was not the love of a wolf that he needed.
It was the love of his journey, he took to find it.

This was amazing. So much emotion was woven into so little words that as it came out, it was like heavy syrup and all I could do was just sit and think. Wanting to cry for the wolf's death, yet marvel at his strength and courage and the memories he must have made along the journey.

Very well done!

I feel sad for the dying wolf. Sometimes the journey is the fun part, not actually getting to your destination. I do like the poem, very well written and it has an important message.
