I've been where you're at

I've been where you're at

A Poem by Annabelle Lee

Don't kick him when he's down
That makes you look like a d****e
I don't care who he is
And what he did to you

Don't hate others for what they have
Or look down upon them for what they don't
I'm almost sure they will not judge
Just as long as you won't

Don't hate on someone when their back is turned
And love them to their face
Because eventually someone is going
To put you in your place

Don't put her down
Because you can
Because she's smaller
That behavior, I cannot stand

Don't you ever turn the other cheek, either
You cannot kill with kindness, fight back
Stand up for yourselves and they'll lay off
Trust me, I've been exactly where you're at

I wish my work colleague would take heed of this Annabelle Lee. I have watched him get bullied by an upstart of a manager and i offered to step in but he won't hear of it. He has now resorted to taking sick leave to avoid the situation and its him who is suffering.
This is sound advice - bullies are cowards and only 'respect' strength and fearlessness

I have a saying I live by...I don't spit in the wind because it always comes back at you. Judge lest you be judged for none of us is perfect or infallible.

I've also gone through being bullied and humiliated for such reasons, that when other people complimented me on those things, I couldn't believe them. Sadly, this is a very honest piece, written wonderfully. Well done.
