Wake Up

Wake Up

A Poem by Annabelle Lee

Wake up you liars, thieves, and cheats
Wake up and see what you do to me
Wake up and try to be human
Wake up before I die again
Wake up, please before it's too late
Wake up before your next mistake
We were not born liars, thieves, or cheats
We were not born to hurt the weak
We were born small and sweet
You were born a lot like me
What made you turn into this case
Of Hate and Evil, with an angel's face
Who made you cold, with a face of stone
Was it someone else who left you alone
Was it something I did or something I said
That made you want to be this instead
You could have chosen to be sweet
I'm not asking you to choose to be weak
But you don't need to lie, steal, or cheat.

You've put quite an attitude here, Anna. I love the determined, fighting spirit.

"Wake up before your next mistake." Nice line.

thank you muchly
A spiritual vacuum sucks the goodness out and leaves it to cry in the wind. We are the sum of the choices we make.

thank you.
I think it is absence of faith … faith in many things, spirit, family, humanity, that turns one into a predator. Excellent write.

Thank you.
This is more the style I'm accustomed to coming from your pen, it's not a bad rant, I've read a lot better from you though.
