Don't Have Regrets!

Don't Have Regrets!

A Poem by Donna

This world has changed so much from years ago.

Today everyone is busy, working, on there phones,

going to the gym. It's all about making money,

which is important, but wait...

While you are so busy, your parents are getting older

and need your help. The kids are growing up so fast.

We all want our kids to have things that we didn't

have, and to give them a good life. Our parents

raised us and cared for us and will always love us.

Our kids need us now, and our parents need our

help now.

Before you know it, the kids will be moving out,

and our parents will pass on. Don't have regrets

when they are gone. Slow down a little bit and

take the time for them before it's to late.

You can't go back.

This poem is a wonderful reminder to all of us not to take people and things for granted. We must appreciate people we encounter, though not always easy to put in practice. Yet, for peace and survival's sake, it is important to distant ourselves from negative people as part of the necessary laws of harmonious cohabitation.
On the issue of people being more caught up in their phones rather than the conversation at hand or the relationships breakdown, we should make a well-balanced use of technology and not let technology become the subject of our worship at the detriment of those folks we hold dear in our lives.

WELL DONE

Wise words written here. Time is a thief, once gone it can't be retrieved. Invest in people, you don't have them forever. I liked the message conveyed Donna.

Great advice shared. I learn too late. I am a better Grandfather than father. I make time for the boys. Thank you Donna for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Thank you so much! I also learned a bit late.
As soon as I saw your title, I knew I wanted to find out what YOU would say about this topic. I always look forward to your refreshing point of view & conversational way of writing. I am one of those old people that hasn't gotten any interaction from the family in a decade or more. When I had the means, I did all the visiting over the years. Now that I'm housebound, I have no visitors. That's why I appreciate all my friends at the café so much . . . this is where I get daily visits to lift my heartstrings. What you are saying here is more dire than many people realize, becuz many older people do not thrive being alone, as I do (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
