On all lands named after saints and new names

On all lands named after saints and new names

A Poem by Dr Poet

On all lands named after saints and new names

born far away from their wombs,

the evil of men melts down into

a charming translation

always enchanting the tongue of the dumb hearts

blinded by the pulse of the darkest star.

Beyond the thought-fathomed oceans

once quartered by the creepy woods of the vikings,

across the endless extensions soaked in atavic silence

once rended by the logics of foolish conquistadors,

the love of men builds up

the arcades connecting the unknown

to the muttering knowledge

of guides forever bound to roam.

On those lands the revelation of the cross

has now been obscured by the standing of the gloss

that embalms in hysterical trance

the golden calf of unnecessary vice

believed to be elementary need.

When care is handed over to anyone's will

even the mightiest stone will crumble

down from the firmest keep,

though wedged into dateless wisdom

to face the centuries of oblivion cast by nature

like an inevitable sentence

upon earth's unprovable innocence.

All dawnings spread the same saddening dew

over the yawning towns of men,

corpses back from the dead of dry resentment

at the driftwood of forlorn expectations

floating adrift through a day without motion.

The time of their dreams is as timeless as dim

when beams fade away towards eternal rest

and glitters the day's ceremonial vest

soon sewn a funereal gown

that suddenly unravels

to embrace all around.

In the time of these dreams is entirely enclosed

the wise sight of old age, of no age for the old;

where the elements meld making useless each sense

and the breeze doesn't breathe

nor does fire anymore speak

as they always had done

since the world had begun.

That world is now gone.

WOW! I think this is well beyond my 16 year old comprehension. I found the heavy wording very easy to read however but just don't think I have any place reviewing such strength of writing!
