About Love

TODAY is the day that love has its way,

Lover, mother, sister and brother,

love brings us together to remember each other.

 

Anger put aside, we recall with pride

the times we've shared and how we cared.

Sending a card that tells our story,

 manufactured alone by love's glory

How could it possibly say what stays in your hearts every day?

 Only a lifetime of 'little moments' can explain the reasons you pray

that death will never take them away.

 

TODAY is the day we remember why we stay

through difficult times we thought would never go away.

Love teaches faith

when we don't want to believe,

 patience, when tempted to leave,

kindness, when it feels undeserved,

endurance, without assurance.

Love is the 'miracle worker' working on US with our beloved,

who comes to know 'all our stuff.

 

TODAY is the day you say to lovers, 'I see you' as different from others.

 You are MY person, unique for reasons, lasting through, all my seasons.

 You are MY heart and soul, making life so full.

You are the ground on which I walk,

the exuberance when I talk,

 my peace at end of day,

 sleeping quietly, even if l don't pray.

 

Thank you for love, that feels undeserving.

Thank you for believing in me so strongly ...

I can see beyond my pain,

 realizing today .. you are my GAIN
