Warriors of Humanity

Warriors of Humanity

A Poem by Dr. Ann Lewis

Some people get mad ... then walk away,

Some people get mad ... turn their heads the other way,

Some people distance themselves for awhile,

think of reasons to smile,

because they've been with us awhile.

Those who stay connect to us in a deeper way,

... they remember to pray,

and think about our goodness in a much different way.

A parent's life is not easy to bare,

filled with sacrifice, struggle, and anguish,

that's not always fair,

Without certainty that anyone will care.

... What . motivates them you might ask????....

Parents-of-friendship bring love

perfect enough to be wrong,

strong enough to be weak,

committed enough ... to never walk away, ... or turn their heads

... to look another way

because they are determined enough to stay.

Parents-of-love know who they are.

They speak of truth with conviction and compassion

… driven by their own childhood description.

They keep believing in what is afar

... because they love their children

..... who have more questions than truth

........ and wisdom without proof.

Parents-of-love you are the Warriors of Humanity,

Thank you for our destiny!
