In and Out

In and Out

A Poem by Diamond Dunbar

In and out.
See I can't stay in.
But I can't stay out.
I'm trying to find my place.
I want to figure things out.
But I can't help my brain from going,
In and out.
See I'm in my thoughts.
Then I'm out.
I was in the conversation but then I blinked out.
So many are maneuvering,
Trying to get through a crowd.
My mind has been racing but then it goes out.
Thoughts flash through my brain like a bulb,
That's struggling to go out.
Out or in?
In or out?
There is no in between if you haven't figured that out.
