Fighting the inevitable...

Fighting the inevitable...

A Poem by Dragon Witch

There he sits upon the couch

rifling his hands through his thick hair

fighting the inevitable.

He will not cede

but pulls his hair gently trying to overcome it

Mouth a gaping "o"

oh how how he wants to win

Head nodding gently

then it whips up and pretends that nothing went awry

his plan is working

windows of wonder wide open!!!

Till plop there he falls

Sound asleep where he sat a minute ago

fighting sleep

like all children we know.

Author's Note

Dragon Witch
This is my three year old just about everday when he has played his heart out and literally collapses where he sits. It's funny and sweet.

This is absolutely adorable, it reminds me of my nephew, kids are funny when they try to be adult and stay up with them... a very cute and enjoyable piece.

That's funny, I didn't read your Author's Note until the end (obviously) and at first I pictured a grown man fighting a receding hair line. Very cute.
