ORPHAN ANNIE

Dedicated to those alone at Xmas

ORPHAN ANNIE

I'm pleading to a starless night but

You can't hear

I'm jumping up and down in full sun but

You can't see

Flapping arms like a wounded bird but

No prayers to be

No-one cares you see

I'm just a wilting weed in the shadow

Of life’s Christmas tree

With no family

No father not a mother or a nanny

I'm Orphan Annie

So please think of me
