Gabriel in the City

Gabriel in the City

A Poem by Dreams in Color

Gabriel in the City

Lonely trumpet

singing to the moon

hanging low in the still air

riding waves of deep

long notes wrenching and

shining golden through the sultry night

reflecting off buildings

wafting over couples laying together, talking low

a drone of car horns and sirens in the distance

all pulsing with the rhythm

of a low, hot night

in the City

He plays in golden light

he plays his heart

radiant

in the spotlight

within

yeah, Daddy-o
