Voice of the night

Voice of the night

A Poem by DreamSharer

When you hear two different voices inside you, you don't know which one to listen to.

“It’s your fault”

How could it be?

How could I rip my own heart apart?

“Look inside you and you’ll see”

“That you let it happen from the start”

But what did I do?

“To yourself you lied,”

“You told yourself you’re happy when it’s not true”

“To protect your rights and feelings you never tried”

“You didn’t leave when the roses didn’t bloom”

Why should I, when my life is here?

“Don’t say that for life is not a land”

“You take it with you because it’s very dear”

“Leave now; No one is lending you a hand”

I want to leave and save my life

But something is stopping me

Help me voice of the night

For in this place I don’t want to be

Author's Note

When you have negative thoughts and you try to tell yourself that these are just negative thoughts sometimes you just feel sorry for yourself and unable to decide what is right and wrong.
