Forgetful

Forgetful

A Poem by Dressed in Poetry

Oh, how want we are to simply forget

A thing as it disappears out of sight

And it is this which we should most regret

For in losing the past, we lose the right.

As time marches on in its measured dance,

We begin to neglect what we once were

While we, in our turn, get caught in the trance

Which captures us so that we cannot stir.
