Typical People Are Ghosts of One Another in a Predatory World

Typical People Are Ghosts of One Another in a Predatory World

A Poem by Sweet & Tender Hooligan
"

Inspired by The Slits, the royal wedding, political lies and the bloodthirsty media. All wars and political decisions, are point scoring, vote winners and poll swayed. Don't believe any of them.

"
Everyone prefers people who aren't around any more,
We're all ghosts of one another - advertisements of progress and decline.
Every shadow abundantly reminds us of what could have been,
The horizon and all roads precariously remind us where we could be.

Memories of childhood smell like vultures gathering post funeral,
Wedding rings for funeral fingers the rich don't understand the poorer.
All parties preach revenge warming tombstone veins - truth's just another fiction,
Clouds in star deprived skies dare to dream among stubborn flowers and bees.
Trash cities full of competitive stained-glass eyes and sex-obsessed artificial lives,
Rich towns are suicide towns daydreamers disappear into a clean mess.
Beautiful dreams asleep on dancing trees love increases its death toll,
Bad dreams born into uprooted and wilting family trees.

Falling in love with anagrams of ourselves withdrawing into what we miss,
Real love cut back like rose bushes, for reality is the dreamers thorn.
Frustration walks on homemade fallen tears like a lost child across ice,
Soldiering on in a predatory world full of paper fortresses and surrender flags.

Sweet & Tender Hooligan
Also inspired by this Martin Luther King Jr quote: ‎"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that"

Good god! lol Now this is what I call vent and in a good way! Everything is wrong, it seems, the world is heading into meltdown, needs a voice or two to get the view out that something is not right! Excellent my friend! Kudos! xx

Who was it who said the farther we look back the further we can see into the future? This is full of many hard truths. The line that resonated the most with me? "Bad dreams born into uprooted and wilting family trees" Amazing line and a great poem.

"truth's just another fiction"... i'm sure this could be the motto for many governments and media organisations alike. The deeper truth of progress... clearly, lyrically and succinctly stated. Excellent poem!!!

I try not to speak out on this subject but it is hard not too. I feel for the families who lost family on 9/11 but I feel just strongly for the loss of life after 9/11 how much blood must we spill in order to feel it is even? How many more of us must die to prove a point. I haven't celebrated because I know his death doesn't mean the end to this war it is just the beginning.

I had many a heated argument among friends on this issue - mostly the use of the words 'justice' and 'celebration' in conjunction with the killing of man. You encompass the meaning of the Martin Luther King quote and the events of recent times well.

Beautifull cutting love back like rose bushes.I have alot of feelings about the false flag retribution that is being celebrated by nieve pride.I want to scream out at the babies dancing in the street that they are an embarassment but hasn't it all been.I will just close my eyes and harden my heart.I refuse to mourn any longer
