Ego

Ego

A Poem by Breezie Kae

Fireflies falling and windy days drying up skin;

can't help but notice as I wait for this to begin.

I only wanted an ego,

I only wanted this word,

I only wanted the rainbow,

I only wanted the world.

Exoskeloten is crushing my insides,

you'd only notice with opened up eyes.

Fairytales floating and dissolving like clouds;

I'd never be heard even though I'm so loud.

I only wanted the simple,

I only wanted complex,

I only wanted the fickle,

I only wanted the rest.

Can't you see that I'm standing here

with fire in my hands?

If I could be so crystal clear,

you'd never understand.

So don't just write me off as shallow,

don't just call me deep.

If I could write the world that follows,

my story, I would keep.

But all my lines are cheap.

I think this is quite interesting. Yes, your ego can get you into a lot of trouble. I think you did a nice job though. Thanks for sharing. :)

The ego can get us in big trouble. I like how you described the possible ends and desires of a powerful ego.
"Fairy tales floating and dissolving like clouds;"
A excellent poem. I like the ending.
