A Poem by getinthecarplease

Listen for astral chants lost in molten light,

paint the piper’s dance with a diamond acolyte

as your prophet of madness heeds his rage

gazing with emptiness on the stage.

Probe your mind for a fragmented phrase

and trace the dimming euphoric days.

Emanating pale sunspray and celestial hues

o’er a cirrus canopy and lysergic cruise

was the hypnotic emperor in disguise

hurling words of fire in your eyes.

Counting ripples above the ocean maze,

obscured in existential malaise.

Score the strife of mortality in a prism lens,

sculpt the absent aura of forsaken friends.

Your harbingers of malice feed the minds

of a billion screaming poets going blind.

Cast sacred pages into the blaze

and draw symbols of a passing phase.

Listen for the sorrow songs in a frozen dream,

paint the fractured spotlight of a cracked moonbeam

as your clandestine music fills the room

and maudlin lyrics mark the tomb.

Probe your mind for an endearing phrase

and trace the dimming euphoric days.
