Alpha and the Omega

Alpha and the Omega

A Poem by Ethikos

Beginning and the End.

Alpha and the Omega.
Beginning and the End.
Mistakes made, heart hidden.
You see, I'm sick of running and making excuses.
Heart pounding and every word setting off fuses.
They tell me what's broken needs to mend.
'cause somewhere around such a large bend,
I've lost myself.
These hands are scorched,
burned from reaching through the fire.
I went on and on, thinking I wouldn't tire.
But they were made to fail,
and blind as a bat I can see only through braille,
reading, writing, saying words I feel have no meaning.
Words that otherwise tell me what I tell myself in demeaning.
But more than once this heart has led me astray,
and I just ask that healing be present to stay
in these upcoming days of darkness.
But through this End, I will find my Beginning.
Through Your name and Yours alone,
for You, Saviour, are both, three in one.
Even though I've just started, this is the end.
I'm ready to meet my maker.
