What You Don't Know

What You Don't Know

A Poem by Emily
"

you don't always know how I really feel

"
Good for you for getting better
But what you don't see
Is that you broke me

Your mind is free
Of unhappy thoughts
Now filled with joy

But me
My happiness was turned off
And tied into knots

As you run off
Happy and free
What you leave behind
Is me

In a state of mind
So unkind

But good for you for getting better

I'll just be over here
Fighting off my tears

I can totally relate to this
I’ve lost friends

People in my life over the years

They leave you with a gaping hole in your heart whilst they are happy in their new surroundings

I enjoyed

Hello, Emily! :)
This is a sad story. What sort of constructive criticism do you welcome?
