Earl, another impressive piece from you. So much depth to this one. Though a bit off course, it reminds me of an interview with Dr. Jordan Peterson, a psychology professor at the University of Toronto. In short, he explained how socialism and it's Marxist roots stem not from love of fellow man and a desire to help the poor, but bitterness and hate of society's upper echelon (something even George Orwell acknowledged). Peterson says this is the basis for identity politics (feminism, minority studies in universities, etc.). And, it's particularly rampant in particular communities and groups. Not sure it aligns with the essence of this poem, but it triggered these thoughts. And, of course, men are largely to blame. Obviously, a thought-provoking piece for me.
