Quiet Riot

Quiet Riot

A Poem by Earl Schumacker
"

Significance in the meaning of words

"

Quiet Riot

Words without meaning endure

Linger on the floor of boredom

As if they had more prominence

Said to be repeated in silence as clear

Whispers of importance visit the forest

Where ancient whispers are still born

Just over the hill around the bend

Rivers flow out of their depth

Out of reach and speechless

Thoughts flow with them crowded

They keep quiet to keep the peace

And listen for a heart beat in the distance

Coming in cloudy but clear
