There is a presumptive notion that oceans can fly or rise.

When Oceans Fall

When oceans fall, skies marry blue

Lighter comes the night cascading

Sleeping with the waterfalls that land

Heavy on the backs of continents

A crash is heard on midnight’s shallows

Seas sleep on rocks that hold their ground

While flowing into holes, oceans lift their heads

Go down, go with them underground as soundless

There is no need to breath when there are waves

Cradled in the sky with clouds born waiting

Oceans rise and fall within themselves

And when they crash the world starts laughing

Dear Earl, so good to see a post from you and such a good poem I might add. Love your expression here. I see ocean's flying all the time, along with cloud island masses and dolphins dancing. I have to say I tend to see them rise rather than fall. Your lines are visually pleasing. I do hope you and yours are keeping safe and well. All good wishes.

i ....love.....this poem ... what an uplifting, joyful ride for me .. oceans do fly don't they :)))))))) ... the invitation to follow down down into the ground .. through the holes takes in the whole scope of it .. and i also really like "Seas sleep on rocks that hold their ground" ...a comforting permanence in that says i! good stuff sir!
